2012-2014 Chapter Theme:
"Bee Involved in the DAR"
Welcome to the Santa Margarita NSDAR website. We are so pleased that you are interested in finding out more about the DAR and particularly our Santa Margarita Chapter.
Our chapter is an active chapter with members involved with our military and their families at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, and our veterans at the VA Hospital in La Jolla. Education of our young people is of prime importance. We promote the DAR Good Citizen Award for graduating high school seniors, the American History Essay Contest for students in grades 5 through 11, and the Christopher Columbus Essay Contest for grade 9. The chapter supports a fourth grade class at the Kate Duncan Smith DAR School in Alabama, and encourages literacy and Constitution understanding in local schools. We also present JROTC medals to honor outstanding cadets. Chapter meetings feature programs that focus on a variety of interesting topics that promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism..
Step inside our website…take a look at where we focus our time and attention. Picture yourself "beeing" involved, honoring your American Revolution patriot and helping to accomplish the goals of our Society.
